Feedback form is now closed.

How do we as dancers, yogis, artists, movers, and human beings create more diverse, inclusive, and equitable spaces? This workshop examines structural racism and implicit bias in society and their manifestations in healing and movement spaces. After defining and giving a brief history of race and racism, we will explore the role of individuals, institutions, and systems in perpetuating and disrupting racism and appropriation.

Participants will:
  • Leave with an understanding of the systems and institutions that led to current racial and cultural inequities
  • Learn to recognize the impact and indicators of racism and cultural appropriation in different settings
  • Be provided with tools to make real change to empower themselves and others in their communities and workplaces
