“I should have listened to my gut.” Whether we call it our conscience, sixth sense, or instinct, most of us have had an experience where we ignored our inner knowing—and regretted it. But what exactly is intuition? How can it be recognized? Is it reliable, and to what extent should we allow it to guide our decision-making? This participatory group discussion asks us to contemplate our understanding and use of “intuition,” and explore how its purposeful cultivation can bring us into greater alignment with our most authentic, creative, powerful selves.

Questions We May Ponder:

What is intuition? (Is it real?)
Describe a time when “intuition” helped or hurt you.
Describe a time when you went against your intuition (What happens? What was the outcome?)
How do we recognize intuition (as opposed to fear, anxiety, or unconscious bias)?
How can we cultivate and feed our intuition?

About Conscious Conversations

Conscious Conversations is a series of participatory group discussions to explore important topics to the community including relationships, resilience, identity, spirituality, grief and healing. With facilitation from a moderator and selected artists, participants will create a supportive space for intimate discussions grounded in appreciation of and curiosity about our shared human experiences. We will practice self-expression and holding space for others, to both listen and be heard. This social practice builds from individual reflection to community connection, inspiring experiences of acceptance, awareness, and transformation.
