Many spiritual traditions include eye gazing as an accelerated and direct way to attain realization of profound spiritual truths. Neurobiology shows us that even inexperienced meditators, given no instruction and directed to simply gaze with a stranger, can consistently and within minutes activate areas of the brain that are not ordinarily activated. This may be experienced as a deeper sense of relaxation, improved healing, a greater resiliency in the face of challenges, and a spiritual and consciousness-enhancing connection. Practiced in a context of Open Heart Consciousness, participants of this workshop commonly cite a group entrainment effect, and a deep sense of unconditional love for others, not as an ideal, but as a moving, lived-body experience that may open your heart in unexpected ways.
